I was watching the comedian and actor Billy Connelly on TV the other night and he had me in stitches. It was a programme about his travels around the U.K and Ireland. Throughout the show they showed some of his live concerts and there was one particular part that reminded me about something similar I had written in my book that was about bad weather.
Billy says who says that rain is bad weather? Who made that decision? Billy says that there is no such thing as bad weather only inappropriate clothing! This is true, why is rain bad weather? In some countries rain is a Godsend and people cheer when it rains so who is right? Weather is whatever you think it to be. If you think rain is bad then it will feel that way. Like it says in my book don’t let the weather dictate your happiness and don’t set up a condition that it has to be sunny for you to enjoy the day. Set up in your mind instead that no matter what the weather you will make the very most of the day regardless.
Isn’t it ridiculous to base your happiness on something that you have absolutely no control over? Often when people tell me that the weather is terrible I look out of the window expecting to see a tornado coming my way but more often it is just cloudy or raining. Hardly terrible! Now this might seem trivial to you but remember this, every thought has an emotional connection so if you think that the weather is terrible that’s how you will start to feel.
Like Billy says just wear the most appropriate clothing for whatever weather conditions. Simple isn’t it!
